Things to Do in Sudbury with Kids; Your 3-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Lunch, Nature trails, Shopping and Urban Air Adventures
Upon arriving in Sudbury, you’re likely hungry from the road. Tuco’s Taco Lounge is the perfect spot for a bite to eat. Serving an impressive menu of vegan Mexican food in a relaxed, hip environment, I will dream about the “phish” tacos.
After lunch grab a snack and a coffee from Beard’s Coffee Bar or an Ice Cream from Flurples directly across from Tuco’s Taco’s before exploring the local shop’s that line Kathleen Street.
Next, we’re going to head out of town to stretch our legs and let the kids play while seeing some of the best views in Sudbury at Fielding Memorial Park. Watch the ducks in the Duck Pond, hike one of 4 trails or play at the playground. Parking at Fielding Memorial Park is free.
After playing outside we suggest you head to Urban Air Adventure and Trampoline Park
for some indoor fun! Urban Air Sudbury is one of the best trampoline parks in Ontario.
Complete with open jumps, impressive obstacles, ropes course, sky rider track and more there is something here for every member of your family!

Day 2: Science North, Parks and Hiking trails
Stop at Pinchman’s Bakery for breakfast and coffee. This bakery will be a staple stop every time we pass through Sudbury!
Science North – there is something for everyone on all 4 levels of Science North. This year you can play and explore the new Dinosaur Exhibit located at Science North and Dynamic Earth! Save on admission by purchasing the Dino Duo Pass.
After the museum grab take-out for lunch at a Sudbury classic; Deluxe Hamburgers! My husband ran to grab food while I took the kids for a relaxing hike through Bell Park. The boardwalk trail connects Science North to the park which was the ideal place for a picnic!
From Bell Park the kids needed to burn off energy and the adults needed to gain some – a quick stop at Kuppajo Coffee had us parents ready to go for the rest of the day!
We went to Kivi Park to let the kids burn off energy and play! The playground here is HUGE! There is a zipline course, plenty of structures and over 15 kilometres of hiking trails within the park!
Di Gusto was on the menu for dinner. I had the made-fresh lasagna and my husband had what he claims is the best woodfired pizza he has ever eaten!
We finished dinner just in time to make the quick drive to Lake Laurentian Conservation Area. A short 500 metre hike lead us to the lookout platform where we caught the sunset changing the lake from shades of green to pink then orange!
Day 3: A Trip Underground, Delicious Lunch and Coffee
Our 3rd and final day started with breakfast at the Hotel prior to checking out.
We went to Dynamic Earth and took a tour 7 stories underground and centuries back in time! Travel through history and watch how mining progressed and evolved throughout history in Sudbury.
Dynamic Earth holds an impressive outdoor playground, plenty of rock and mineral displays and right now there is an entire exhibit dedicated to dinosaurs!
Time for a photo op! Be sure to take your photo with the Big Nickel – the largest coin in the world! Look at the rocks underfoot - those lines are caused by the glacier retreat scraping across the earth and leaving striations in their place.
For lunch head 3.4 kilometres away to the heart of Downtown Sudbury and enjoy a delicious meal on the patio of Laughing Buddha.
Take a short walk to view the murals and street art downtown before ending at Old Rock Coffee to grab a coffee and pastry for the road – I recommend the Cinnamon Bun Latte!
