With a such a high concentration of golf courses in the Greater Sudbury area there are enough options for you to play a new course every weekend. Golf Sudbury specifically has 5 of the most popular courses in the area ranging from affordable to premier courses.

Silver Styx Golf Course

Just 25 minutes from New Sudbury the Silver Styx Golf Course is a great place for a quick 18 holes. With a laid back culture and an welcoming attitude to all levels of golfers old and young, experienced and new comers the staff is on board to make sure you enjoy yourself.

Onaping

Onaping Golf & Beach Club

A surprisingly challenging 9-hole course is nestled in the scenic environment along the gorgeous Windy Lake. A great clubhouse has hearty home cooked meals and fully licensed bar is a perfect place to host events, parties, and weddings. A very unique part of this establishment is the cabin that is available to rent that has a kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms, sauna and everything you could need for a comfortable stay.

Chelmsford Golf Course

This 18-hole golf course in Chelmsford is a fun and friendly course that will surely have you coming back for another round.

Forest Ridge Golf Course

Just outside of the city sits this challenging and rewarding golf course. Golf courses have always been difficult to design in Sudbury with the rough and rocky terrain combined with marshy low lands, but Forest Ridge managed to do it perfectly in a way that will test golfers of all levels. This establishment also offers facilities to host events, weddings, and is always open to booking tournaments.

Twin Stacks Golf Course

This beautiful 9-hole course gives you a real taste of Sudbury because it is located on the re-greened site of INCO’s decommissioned Coniston Smelter. Twin Stacks has been open for more than 15 years and offers a great place for tournaments, events, or just a quick round of golf.

Lively Golf & Country Club

Sitting just 15 minutes outside of Sudbury the Lively Golf & Country Club promises a memorable round to all levels of golfers. This course has a great layout and is consistently maintained to high standards. The facilities include a great clubhouse capable of hosting a wide range of events.

Sixth Avenue Golf & Country Club

Sixth Avenue is a gorgeous 9-hole course that specializing in anywhere from 2 guests – 250 guests as they provide a popular site for weddings and large events. A lot of focus is put on ethical practices when maintaining the course and they also proudly support local farmers, and suppliers when catering events.

Blackstone Golf Course

Blackstone Golf Course has recently made an innovative decision to add separate holes on their golf course for Sudbury’s first introduction of Soccer or Foot Golf. This is the first of its kind in Sudbury and has generated a fair amount of interest.

Idylwylde Golf & Country Club

This pristine private family oriented golf course is nestled between Ramsey Lake and the shores of Lake Nepahwin. Top of the line facilities include a full driving range, practice hole, curling rinks, a large clubhouse, and a recognized restaurant.

Monte Vista Golf Course

Unlike the majority of Golf Sudbury’s courses Monte Vista G&CC is a much more open and forgiving golf course. The facilities are newly renovated and offer a fantastic venue for events and weddings.

Pine Grove Golf Club

Often considered one of the best courses for its cost, Pine Groove is located just ten minutes away from the Four Corners down old highway 69. This course gives you a great taste of the North and boasts beautiful greens and holes that promote aggressive tee shots.

Stonehill Golf Course

Stonehill Golf Course appropriately gets its name from the many rock cuts bordering narrow holes. This course is very fun but can really challenge even the most experienced golfer and will keep you honest off the tee. A huge draw for Stonehill is its location, sitting just a few minutes from the Four Corners.

Timberwolf Golf Club

Timberwolf Golf Club is one of the most recognized golf courses in the North for good reason as it was designed by Thomas McBroom who is a world-renowned golf course architect. Timberwolf has been the site of many provincial and national tournaments including the Junior National Championships and the Canadian PGA senior’s Championship. This course spans approximately three times the size of any other course in Sudbury and does a fantastic job of showing you the wilderness of our region while allowing you to play one of the best courses in Ontario.

Cedar Green Golf Course

Cedar Green Golf Course offers a great mix of holes with wide open fairways and holes scattered with water hazards and intimidating but beautiful tree lined fairways. This course will present a challenge to all levels of golfers but promises a great day because we all know how hard it is to have a bad time taking in the scenery of the North.

Golf Sudbury owns the last five courses listed above. The great thing about this company is the wide range of courses that they offer to the customer. Monte Vista and Timberwolf offer some of the top wedding venues in the area.
